Somehow I find myself in Tokyo today.  My weekend vanished before my eyes, spent on an 11 hour flight that crossed the international date line and never entered a period of darkness. Seriously, where did saturday night go?

The hotel I’m in is enormous and the food ridiculously overpriced.  Last night I had a fairly standard bento dinner comprised of sashimi, tempura, rice, miso, and pickled vegetables.  The cost?  $55.  Had I partaken in the continental breakfast this morning I would have been out $20 for juice, coffee, and toast.

I didn’t sleep very well but here I am ready to hit the town and start photographing the people of Tokyo.  We’re here to do some mobile research for work and are trying to ferret out basic behavioral patterns surrounding mobile phone use.  We’ll be here for a week and then we’re off to Seoul.
